The old CHAG Constitution was reviewed in 2005 in order to create an enabling environment to meet emerging challenges. The document is still in draft as it is yet to be approved by the Constituent Assembly. PREAMBLE: THE CHRISTIAN COUNCIL OF GHANA (CCG) and the GHANA CATHOLIC BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE (GCBC) HAVING formed an Association known as “The Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG)”for Christian health service delivery in Ghana, and permitting the participation of other church-related institutions, AWARE that Health Care in Ghana is undergoing major reforms for the furtherance of better health delivery services and that policies are being formulated aimed at meeting the challenges in health care delivery in Ghana, CONSCIOUS of the fact that the mission of the church is to save souls and promote the healing ministry of Christ, DESIRIOUS to be partners in the health care delivery in Ghana, and BELIEVING that priority should be given to the poor and the neglected and that there should be renewed emphasis on rural health efforts and health education for the prevention of illness, DO HEREBY ADOPT this Constitution of CHAG with a view to creating an enabling environment for the operation of Christian Health Service Delivery to meet emerging challenges.
